In my private Facebook Group – Get Your SASS On™, every Monday I encourage the ladies to be accountable for the actionable steps they plan to take in their business. Notice I said plan!
Each member is encouraged to share their business goal(s) for the week so that every member of the group can see what they plan to complete for the week. Not only does this give them instant accountability partners, it creates an environment that motivates them to ask themselves the question, “What else can I do? over and over until the results are achieved.
Decisive #womenpreneur operate on the premise that they must focus on achieving results. In order to make that happen, you must clearly define your results. Whether it’s a sales figure (I will make $2,000 from membership sales this week) or a specified delivery period for your product (I will launch my new planner on a specified date). After clearly defining your goal, the next step is to align your daily activities with your targeted results.
Webster’s defines “accountable” as “Subject to giving an account, report, explain or justify; being answerable, responsible.” The words “Subject to” stands out to me because, for some, it makes them feel as though they have little choice in the matter. I’ve even had people to tell me they’d rather not post their weekly goals because it makes them feel like a failure if they don’t accomplish the goal(s) or meet the deadlines they said they were going to achieve. Fortunately, that’s far from the truth.
After researching more, I stumbled across another definition of accountability published by American Management Association – www.amanet.org.], that I feel speaks to the decisive womenpreneur.
Accountability: “A personal choice to rise above one’s circumstances and demonstrate the ownership necessary for achieving desired results—to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It.” That means you are personally committed to not quit, even when you are faced with difficult circumstances. You keep pushing forward expecting to achieve the desired results.
